Prior to joining Insight Wealth Partners in 2010, Ryan worked as a CPA at RSM McGladrey, Inc. and McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, the 5th largest public accounting firm in the nation. After only three years, Ryan was promoted to the position of Tax Manager, making him the primary client service coordinator for multi-million dollar companies engaged mostly in the real estate and non-profit industries. Ryan was consistently recognized as a top client service provider and received the highest possible performance ranking each year he was with RSM. Using his background in computer science, Ryan also took the initiative to develop several programs that streamlined various office processes. While originally developed only for the Dallas office, his arrangement letter program became the firm standard and is utilized in numerous RSM offices throughout the nation.

Ryan has the ability to understand and distill complex problems into fundamental principles that he can effectively communicate to others. Throughout his career at RSM, Ryan demonstrated this skill as he taught numerous continuing professional education courses. Ryan taught at the Texas Tech University Tax Institute, presented multiple national webcasts, and taught sessions at the Annual National Tax Conference for the partners, directors, and managers of RSM. His aptitude for analyzing and communicating difficult concepts translates well to his client relationships, as it allows Ryan to work with his clients to break down complex financial problems into practical solutions. For multiple years, Ryan has been recognized by Texas Monthly magazine as a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager – an accolade awarded to wealth managers who provide their clients with exceptional client service. Ryan has also been recognized by Forbes Magazine as a Top Next-Gen Advisor for the past two years.

Ryan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2004 as the “Highest Ranking Graduate in the Rawls College of Business.” He was awarded a Master of Science in Accounting with a focus in Taxation and a minor in Mathematics.

Ryan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner, a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ryan is also very active at his church, Vineyard Community Church, where he is an elder and member of the Pastoral Advisory Committee.

Ryan has been married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Alison, for twenty years. They have five sons: Caleb, Deron, Simon, Jonas, and Isaac. During his spare time, Ryan enjoys taking Taekwondo with his older sons and received his Black Belt in December of 2014. He also enjoys rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, riding his Onewheel, playing guitar, and most of all, spending time with his family.
